Insurance Defense Litigation Secretary

Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA) | Full-Time | Onsite/Hybrid (as applicable)

A well-established downtown Los Angeles law firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Litigation Secretary to support busy litigation attorneys. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who values accuracy, organization, and long-term career stability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, format, and file pleadings and litigation documents in California state and federal courts, including e-filing and knowledge of local rules
  • Maintain and manage calendaring for multiple attorneys, including court deadlines, hearings, depositions, discovery cutoffs, and trial dates
  • Draft and revise correspondence, pleadings, discovery, motions, and trial-related documents
  • Coordinate with courts, clients, opposing counsel, and vendors
  • Handle administrative litigation support from inception through trial

Top Qualifications We're Looking For

  1. Strong State & Federal Filings Experience

    • Demonstrated experience with California state and federal court filings (including CM/ECF)
  2. Expert Calendaring Skills

    • Proven ability to manage complex litigation calendars and critical deadlines with precision
  3. Career Stability

    • A solid employment history showing longevity and commitment (not frequent moves every 1-2 years)

Additional Requirements

  • Prior insurance defense litigation experience strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and legal document formatting
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
  • Professional communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
